Night to Unite

Night to Unite is an opportunity for the community to come together and get involved in public safety and crime prevention. The Elk River Area Food Co-op will have volunteers scattered throughout the city promoting our efforts and connecting with our community. This is a very casual event in which anyone can put on their co-op t-shirt and promote the community grocery store that is coming to town. If you would like to participate, please e-mail us at and we will let you know designated meeting spaces.

More information on Night to Unite taken from the Elk River Community Website:
Night to Unite is a unique opportunity for the police department and the residents to unite and promote community involvement in the areas of public safety and crime prevention. For over 20 years, Elk River neighborhoods have joined in on this national celebration which is held annually on the first Tuesday in August. Last year 38 separate neighborhood celebrations were held. Each neighborhood decides how they want to celebrate Night to Unite. Gathering can be as simple or elaborate as you like. Some neighborhoods have potlucks, barbecues, ice cream socials, or simply sit on the front porch and visit with one another. Gatherings will be visited by the police department, the fire department, elected officials and other city staff. It’s a great way to get to know your neighbors and build a safer community. If you'd like to register your neighborhood, please call the Elk River Police Department at 763.635.1260 or download the registration form. Registrations are due July 22.
