SomaYoga: Mindful Movement to Relieve Holiday Stress

The holidays are a busy, joyful, and [lets be honest] stressful time. Come hang out with Somatic Movement & Yoga Instructor, Alyssa Johnson as she guides you into deep relaxation. Alyssa will teach breathing techniques and mindful movements in order to cultivate an environment that fosters letting go. This class will focus on slow, small movements to re-educate your physical, mental and emotional body, allowing you to release held tension and accumulated stress. Take time to nourish yourself and catch your breath during this one-hour slow down. This is an all level class, modifications can/will be available.

In the holiday spirit this will be a DONATION BASED CLASS, however, registration is required. 
There will be a bowl at the door as you leave. No obligation, pay as you can. 

What to bring:

  • Something to lay on - please bring your own yoga mat if available. if not, a blanket or towel will be just fine. All you need is a little cushion and warmth to lay on.
  • Wear layers. This is not a fitness class. We will be using small, slow movements to awaken the body. Please wear comfortable clothes that will ensure your warmth.
  • An open and welcoming mindset - leave your expectations and timidness at home. This class is for all skill levels and body types. If you can breathe, you can do yoga.
  • Water bottle - after class it is extremely important to hydrate.

 Instructor Bio: Alyssa Johnson gained her 200-hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification at Mountain Moon Yoga in Winter Park, Colorado. Since then she has completed a 9-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training program with Judith Lies and is currently studying to fulfill her 500-hr SomaYoga Certification (Level One Yoga Therapy). Alyssa focuses on the philosophical and therapeutic benefits of yoga and believes that through attention and awareness we can heal our lives form the inside out.
