“The Tin Building was constructed 32 feet away from and six feet higher than its original footprint on a new concrete and steel pile foundation designed to comply with the 100-year floodplain set by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency),” YIMBY wrote. “The structure is planned to house over 300 historical objects that were saved from the original structure.”

As one of the busiest commuter lines, LIRR has 126 stops crossing Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island, providing transportation to the entire metropolitan area in various capacities. Phillip Eng, president of the LIRR told ENR: “I don’t know if you can find another commuter railroad that has this many grade crossings in such a short geographical footprint. I would absolutely recommend [the box-jacking method] to others. If it works for LIRR, it’s going to work for other railroads across America.”
